The clothes and accessories have been laid out in the guest room for several weeks. It seems like everyday another package arrives from Amazon with yet something else we need to take with us. Blow up cushions for the 8-10 hour bus ride on bumpy Indian roads; a power converter with USB ports and the special plugs needed for each country; Deet spray for both our clothes and our bodies. The accessory cube already weighs 5 lbs. We are ready for any eventuality - outdoor stand up bathrooms (used those in Africa), lots of purell, antibotics and immodium, sunscreen etc.
I still need to pick up some books to take to the school we are going to visit and a gift for the family whose home we will visit and break bread.
We fly from Tampa to Chicago and then onto Abu Dabi and finally New Delhi. I am looking forward to the hot air balloon over Jaipur and the plane ride or maybe its a helicopter to view Mt. Everest. We might even get to see the rare Indian Bengal Tiger at Rathamborne National Park. And of course I will make sure to take a photo of the Taj Mahal.
The Nasty Women made silk scarves the other day and mine is ready to be packed in my suitcase. It will come in quite handy to cover my head when we are in temples. I'll post as many pictures of me with the scarf as I can. That way my "nasty women" will feel like they are with me on my adventure.
One week until takeoff. Stay tuned I'll post as often as I can.
